Tron Legacy - Blu-Ray - Region A

THE NEW AV DEMO DISK! - the picture and sound on this are absolutely awesome, especially the sound. Daft Punk's soundtrack work sounds amazing coming out of a 7.1 mix, and the bass response is incredible. The film is not too bad either, I was expecting a lot worse from a first time director, but he lets it breath as it is not too over-produced, giving it moments of clarity and purpose and the story is a bit more understandable this time, and it even works a Kubrick-2001 nod in there too! (Flynns apartment).

It steered clear of cheesey moments, romantic clinches and swearing and "it" words to make it date (although Bridges "digital jazz" line made me laugh). On the subject of characters though, the younger version of Jeff Bridges was a mistake, they should of just changed that to be another totally different actor, as not only did it look pretty bad but it also meant the acting was wonky too. The apperence of Michael Sheen also took me by suprise!

The visual aspect is to be admired, there really isn't anything else like the world of Tron, and the visual update is very nice indeed. Editing in these FX-specatulars usually lets them down, but this one was at the top of its game, no confusing out-shots and wondering what was going on. Overall, if you have a AV setup at home, BUY THIS DISK, the presentation and the film are a perfect 2 hours worth of PG-rated entertainment, and its not as much hard work as the original.
